The Story:
I accepted an Art Direction job at JTV in the spring of 2022 and was eager to continue collaborating and mentoring junior photographers. I spent my days organizing and styling different jewelry looks in preparation for photoshoots, giving lighting direction, apparel styling, and selecting models. I also was able to photograph while I was there, since the team was smaller and needed assistance with the larger workload.
What I Learned:
- Happy leaders foster happy teams.
- Build in time between photoshoots for respite, editing, and debriefing.
- Always bring snacks to the shoot, and being overprepared and early is always better than being underprepared and late.
